The forest of Himos surrounds you with typical Central Finnish taiga – spruce, pine, and birch rising over mossy ground. Small wetlands and gentle hills add variety to the landscape, creating a calm yet ever‑changing atmosphere.

Majamäki is a gentle hill in Central Finland, close to Jyväskylä, rising 134 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by wide boreal mixed forests where pines, birches, and spruces shape the landscape – a typical scenery of Central Finland that radiates calm and authenticity.

The Koskikara Trail (3,5 kilometers) starts from Rutalahti, near Koskikara School, and follows the Rutajoki River for most of its length. Along the way, hikers can enjoy both rushing rapids and gently flowing river sections. The trail starts at Rutalahti at the former Koskikara school (street address: Koskelantie 128). The trail is marked with blue paint markers.

The scenically varied Jääskelä trail leads here over a pretty wooden bridge and crosses a small sea of ​​rocks.

The hiking trail leads for a while directly along the shore of this romantic little lake and offers beautiful views of the water.

With its rocky landscape, this approximately 100-meter-high hill is a beautiful hiking destination. The area is protected and part of the Natura 2000 network.

Breathtaking views from the Vaarunvuori trail down to the large bay of Korospohja.

The rough paths, rustic forests, two small lakes and beautiful views make this relatively easy circular trail a great experience.
