Hohe Schrecke: This gem lies inconspicuously on the "Touringen Stempelweg between trails 118 and 119." It is the entertaining footpath over the suspension bridge, covering a distance of approximately 180 meters. All trails are in good, natural condition and are very well signposted. Hazards: Many rotten trees.

The Frauenberg was probably already a cult site, a sacrificial site, and a castle-fortification complex with four sections in pre-Christian times. During the GDR era, an East German radio tower of the NVA (National People's Army) was located on the mountain plateau. Today, you can enjoy the views "of the countryside," which are also well explained by numerous information panels.

Behind the tower the trail goes straight into the ground and after 200 m there is a well-built jump, then about 2 lots of fun with tight bends. There is a tree lying across the road at the moment that cannot be avoided.

From here, weather permitting, you'll have a superb panoramic view: Kelbra, Rothenburg, the Harz Mountains—all the way to the Brocken. There's also an explanatory panel and a rest area.

Old prehistoric cult site - like a monolith, the hill rises from the plain, visible from afar, surrounded by fields and meadows. Once at the top, hikers are treated to a magnificent panoramic view. The center of this mystical plateau is marked by an old linden tree...

On a clear day you can look over to the summit of the Brocken from here. You also have a great view of the privately owned Rothenburg - the perfect place for a short break.

Don't forget the tourist stamp
