High up in the rock face on the western side of the Maderkopf, the water emerges from the limestone as an overflow spring and plunges into the depths in several cascades. The impressive waterfall is named after General Hilda, a front-line commander in World War I. Its catchment area extends into the basin of the Upper Wolayer Alm. Lake Wolayer also drains underground into this system.

You can reach the Bruggen waterfall in the Obergailer valley via a hiking trail or a climbing route. It is definitely worth it to see how the Obergailer stream plunges so impressively into the depths.

Easily accessible from the parking lot, nice as a stopover about 15 minutes walk to the waterfall with two beautiful viewing platforms

The tour from Dölsach was very disappointing. Most of the way goes along the Drau, where you walk almost continuously in the sun in the morning and afternoon. Moreover, the entire path is gravel or asphalt. Only the last section in the forest and at the waterfall was very pleasant and good for walking.

A short but beautiful via ferrata, you should possibly consider another tour destination so that you get your money's worth when climbing or you can do the via ferrata several times in a row. You have to cover quite a distance. The "arrival" with the (e-)mountain bike is more pleasant. Officially it doesn't seem to be allowed (forest road), but the passage next to the barrier has a generous width and invites you to do so.
