Very nice walk within the Corbières-Fenouillèdes Regional Natural Park in the gorges of the Saint-Jaume river. By crossing numerous small, well-appointed footbridges, you arrive at Fenouillet and its fortress.

Formerly fortified around a castle, this defensive place made it possible to repel attacks by French armies in the 16th century and then by Spanish troops in the 18th century. Now dominated by a church built on the ruins of the old castle, the village is renowned for being one of the sunniest in France. Largely pedestrianized, dotted with artisan boutiques, restaurants and shops, Eus (around 400 inhabitants) is a member of the association of the most beautiful villages in France.
