A beautiful secluded beach of fine sand. Perfect for a picnic or a swim. There are usually no tourists, just local fishermen going out into the ocean on their boats. There is also parking for cars and a small fence to tie up your bikes.

The fine sand beach of Anse des Vieilles is the largest on the wild coast, in the southwest of the island. Family beach appreciated by the inhabitants of the island of Yeu, its long and wide crescent-shaped strip of sand is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, playing or relaxing. Nautical activity of canoeing, sea kayaking, Polynesian canoe, wave-skiing offered by Caval Kayak Club, but only in season at this beach.

This maritime station is the gateway to the island and regular ferries provide the connection with the port of Fromentine, on the mainland. The journey takes 45 minutes.

Port-Joinville is the capital of the island of Yeu, and has not far from its 4,000 inhabitants. Located on the north coast of the island, it is the port of entry for the three ferry lines which sail to other horizons (Fromentine, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie or Barbâtre on the island of Noirmoutier) and becomes the starting point for all your adventures on the island. Once you have passed the fishing and pleasure ports, you will find immaculate and winding streets in the heart of the city, almost reminiscent of a Greek village. Strolling there is an activity in its own right. At the end of your hike, do not hesitate to sit on the terrace of a bistro or café to taste products straight from the sea.

The southeastern tip of the island offers a coast between sand and rocks. We go from the north coast, very sandy, to the south, much more jagged with cliffs. A pretty lighthouse tops the point
