Without any experience, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this climb, as some spots require some courage... and full gear, of course! No flip-flop zone!

As the relevant specialist literature states, a lot has been made of the non-alpine terrain. At the former DAV hut below the access point, you can put on your gear in peace. In my opinion, the set is only really needed on the steps and the short ladder as well as the two traverses in the middle section that are only 2-3 meters long. Slipping here would be a pain. Otherwise, you can be at the top in 10-15 minutes without taking any photo breaks. The rather majestic Edelweiss metal sign, which you can see from below, and the view over the Main are real rewards. The only annoying thing is the traffic noise coming up from the railway line and the B27. The oversized edelweiss can be seen from below. It marks the Kalbenstein hill at 295m and also the end of the Lenzsteig. A truly fitting destination!
