On the hiking trail along the Wisch River, there's a gigantic beech tree. We took a break there and enjoyed the magnificent view. 👌 Also located here are the millstone table, the Kossenhaschen crypt, and a bench with an information board.

The Spindelkoppe offers the first comprehensive view to the south on the Werra-Burgen-Steig trail heading north from Creuzburg. This provides a good overview of the route so far.

Unfortunately, there is no place to rest on the summit of the 338 m high Spindelkoppe, but when you look out over the landscape from here all the way to the A4 bridge at Hörschel and the Wartburg, you will pause for a moment even when standing.

The inner courtyard is well worth seeing with the Palas, the cistern, its half-timbered buildings and the medieval castle garden. Everything is renovated and beautifully prepared.
