The Drachenstein offers a wonderful view towards Inselsberg and Hörselberg. It is located on the wine route between “Hohe Sonne” and “Mosbacher Linde”.

The Göringer Stein is considered a legendary place. A castle of the same name is said to have once stood on its summit. The monogram C A, the year 1878 and a crown were carved into a stone on the south side - it is a symbol of honor and a "gift" for the then father of the country, Grand Duke Carl Alexander, for the 25th anniversary of his reign in 1878. Since the Middle Ages, Zechstein ore (sand ore and copper slate) has been mined in the Eisenach area and also at Göringer Stein. At this ancient oak tree, you simply have to take a break and let your gaze wander over the beautiful view. If you're on the Mariental-Drachenschlucht-Landgrafenschlucht-Mariental circular hike, don't turn left into the Landgrafenschlucht on the old wine route, but keep right and walk a few meters uphill to the large Drachenstein (dragon stone). (Note: The path leading up splits; there are no signs here. However, both paths rejoin after a few meters.) After enjoying the beautiful view at this magnificent tree, follow the path down, cross the wine route, and continue straight ahead into the Landgrafenschlucht. (This path also leads to the gorge; otherwise, you can follow the wine route back a few steps to the original junction.)
