The first chapel in Furggstalden probably existed as early as the 17th century. During the episcopal visitation in 1897, the prayer house in Furggstalden, dedicated to Saint Anne, was inspected and found in poor condition. A few years later, an avalanche swept away the chapel, which was never rebuilt. Only the chapel bell was saved. This bell now hangs again in the chapel, which was rebuilt in 2006 on the initiative of Caesar Zurbriggen. The motif of the large choir window depicts the visit of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth.

From here you have a great view towards Mattmark and there is a very nice playground.

The lovingly designed fountain is located in the village square of Saas-Almagell.

The Almagelleralp mountain hotel is located at 2,194 meters in the impressive mountains above the Saas Valley. The approach via the adventure trail from Furggstalden is particularly exciting – with suspension bridges, ladders, and secured passages. A head for heights is required! The hut is perfect for an overnight stay and as a starting point for tours, such as those to the Weissmies. During the summer season, 60 beds are available. Reservations are recommended. Open from June to October, the hut is closed in winter.

Berghotel Almagelleralp is an alpine lodge located at 2,194 meters above sea level in the picturesque Saas Valley in Switzerland. It offers hikers and mountain climbers an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding region. To reach Almagelleralp, it is recommended to take the adventure trail from Furggstalden, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. This route includes passages on suspension bridges and ladders, crossing well-secured rock sections. It is important to be sure-footed and not suffer from vertigo. When staying at Almagelleralp, you can take the high-altitude hike to Kreuzboden (above Saas-Grund), enjoying panoramic views of the Saastal mountains. The lodge is also a starting point for mountain climbs, including the ascent of the Weissmies, a peak that is over 4,000 meters. The lodge has 60 beds during the summer season. It is equipped with electricity and running water, offering a comfortable welcome to guests. The refuge is closed during the winter. It is scheduled to reopen in June 2025. Advance booking is highly recommended to secure a bed.

In September 2024, the Almageller stream had a lot of water due to heavy rain. This destroyed both bridges. Even if you can't get to them directly, you can see an impressive spectacle here.
