The Rodalben Tourist Association dedicated this beautiful shelter "in memory and gratitude" to the popular local priest and dean Martin Ehling (May 30, 1956 - May 17, 2014), who died suddenly and unexpectedly shortly before his 58th birthday. An information board describes the various stages of his (spiritual) work.

Directly below the bear sculpture is the small bear fountain.

The oldest part of the Catholic Church of the Nativity of Mary is the church tower from the 11th/12th century, which was originally a defensive tower of the town fortifications. The baroque nave visible today dates from 1735. The entrance area with the double tower front was placed in front of the nave in 1886.

In winter, beautiful icicles form here.

The bridge, built in a somewhat historicist style, has some interesting details. In particular, the stair towers with their roof structures are reminiscent of the tower structures and battlements of medieval castles. Overall, it fits very harmoniously into the Rodalb townscape.
