The Bastan refuge is located a little higher up, on the shores of Lac du Milieu. It is open from the last weekend of May to the first weekend of October, continuously. It offers a 12-seat dormitory as well as a refectory for which we advise you to book in advance on the refuge website: http://refugedebastan.fr/dates-douverture/ However, the refuge remains open out of season (you will need to bring your duvets) to accommodate hikers in need of shelter.

Very beautiful point of view on the surrounding peaks as well as on the peak of Bastan which awaits you. The night at the edge of the lake is very pleasant.

For me the most beautifully located refuge with the friendliest hut couple. Be sure to try the small myrtille tart. The lakes offer countless beautiful camping spots. And the refuge is suitable as a starting point for beautiful day trips. The refuge even has an outdoor shower with warm water from heated hoses. Tel: +33 5 62 98 48 80
