Between the massive archway of the Passo del Monte Forato and the summit cross, there is a small hollow with a double shaft that you can easily climb through - in case you haven't had enough after the climb ;-)

The coast of Monte Forato, between Cardoso and Fornovolasco, is of great beauty, although care must be taken when walking along it. From here, in fact, you can see from close range the famous "hole" in the rock that gives the mountain its name, a natural arch visible from both Versilia and Garfagnana.

Easily accessible via the Via Vandelli from Resceto. From the Passo Tambura the path becomes a normal mountain path. It is also worth crossing the Monte Crispo and descending via the marble quarry back to Resceto 😃.

Majestic natural arch, emblem of this portion of the Apuan Alps. It is located between the peaks of Mount Forato Sud and Forato Nord. A true jewel of nature. The more daring can also cross it above, with extreme caution.
