the old town, an absolute must

A very pretty, medieval town where we warmed ourselves up with coffee and nut pastries at the Hauser bakery on a foggy October day.

Currently, the walkways on the shore have been demolished and some passages are impassable.

Estavayer-le-Lac is a true jewel on Lake Neuchâtel. The charming medieval town offers a unique mix of history and nature. Narrow streets, beautiful half-timbered houses and the imposing Chenaux Castle give Estavayer-le-Lac its special character.

Simply a great bike tour, but only if the visibility is very good. Aarberg is a wonderful place to linger.

Beautiful little promenade stretching from Camping "La Nouvelle Plage" to the marina. With its sandy beach, the Caribbean bar decorated with palm trees and the water ski lift, which extends far into the azure blue of Lake Neuchâtel at the end of a wooden jetty, the campsite, which is open to the public, offers a relaxation area with an ingenious view. Clean and well-kept toilet facilities also ensure a hygienic stay. There is also a spacious restaurant with a panoramic terrace on site, which leaves nothing to be desired. Extensive sunbathing lawns characterize the picture and countless benches set up along the shore invite everyone to take a break. The holiday mood quickly sets in. Depending on the weather, the water of Lake Neuchâtel shows its turquoise side and the local bird life is not camera shy. After or before the walk along the "Nouvelle Plage", a detour to the castle and in Estavayer's old town is recommended.
