Hettingen Castle is not only a historic building, but also a vibrant part of the town. A visit is particularly worthwhile during cultural events or while taking a stroll through the picturesque Lauchert Valley.

The town of Hettingen bought the castle in 1978 from the House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. 1991-1994 The castle was renovated and converted into a town hall for 4.24 million DM. 1994 The town administration moved in and used it as a town hall. Remains of the Baldenstein castle ruins. The castle was destroyed by fire quite early (around 1150). What a miracle that there is still something to see today.

Nice barbecue area in front of the castle entrance with a great view of Hettingen. To the right of the castle is the Narrenburg Narrenmuseum.
