11月 14, 2025, Catedral de Salamanca
The bell tower of Salamanca Cathedral is one of the most emblematic elements of its architecture. It forms part of the New Cathedral, although it is integrated into the complex that includes the Old Cathedral. Baroque style predominates, although the base is Renaissance, reflecting the transition between the two cathedrals. Height: Approximately 92 meters, making it one of the tallest points in the city.

11月 3, 2025, Puente Romano de Salamanca
The Roman Bridge of Salamanca forms part of the Silver Route (Vía de la Plata), which connected Mérida with Astorga. Although its origins are Roman, dating from the 1st century AD, only the fifteen arches closest to the city are from this period; the other eleven underwent several reconstructions as a result of flooding of the Tormes River.

11月 2, 2025, Cuesta de los Caenes Gravel Track
The Cuesta de los Caenes section is part of a very accessible circular route near Cabrerizos, on the outskirts of Salamanca. No shade, ideal for cool days. Suitable for families and children. Beautiful views of Cabrerizos, Salamanca in the distance, and the Tormes Valley. The route passes by the Arroyo de Las Caenes stream, and the Cuesta de los Caenes is one of its most recognizable sections.

8月 11, 2025, Catedral de Salamanca
The New Cathedral of Salamanca, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, began construction in 1513, although construction lasted until 1733. Great architects such as Juan and Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón, Juan de Álava, and the Churriguera brothers, among others, worked there. The initial style was late Gothic, and despite the extensive work, this stylistic unity assigned by the Chapter has been maintained. On the exterior, we can see impressive facades with highly elaborate and unique decorative details, such as those on the three doors of the main façade, an interesting iconographic ensemble with reliefs of scenes from the Nativity and the Epiphany, and, above the large central ogee arch, a beautiful Calvary. The Palm Doorway depicts the sculptural group of the Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. On this façade there are sculpted figures that do not correspond to the period, since we can see, to mention the most well-known, a monster eating ice cream or a curious astronaut (author's licenses in a 1992 restoration to justify the historical moment of its incorporation).

12月 30, 2024, New Cathedral of Salamanca
The New Cathedral is one of the two cathedrals in the city of Salamanca. The need to build this building arose when the one now known as the Old Cathedral became too small due to the boom in the city, due to university activity, at the beginning of the 16th century. Aid was requested from the Catholic Monarchs for its construction. The work began in 1512, based on a project by Gil de Ontañón, and was completed in 1733, making this cathedral one of the last manifestations of Spanish Gothic. It was planned that the Old Cathedral would remain standing to allow worship until the construction work on the New Cathedral was completed, when it would be demolished. When the work was completed, more than two centuries later, the idea was reconsidered and, fortunately, both buildings were preserved.

12月 30, 2024, Plaza Mayor de Salamanca
The Plaza Mayor of Salamanca, from the 18th century, is one of the most beautiful urban monumental squares in Europe. Construction began in 1729 at the request of the mayor Rodrigo Caballero Llanes. The project was led by the architect Alberto de Churriguera, followed by his nephew Manuel de Lara Churriguera and was completed by Andrés García de Quiñones in 1755. Located in the centre of the city, it forms an irregular quadrilateral with arcades, with three floors on each façade, presided over by the Town Hall. In the Royal Pavilion, the effigy of King Ferdinand III The Saint stands out and the medallions on the spandrels of its arches represent Spanish monarchs. In the south pavilion, or San Martín in the medallions we see illustrious military men or conquerors, while in the Petrineros pavilion the figures in the medallions are cultural figures.

11月 18, 2024, View of Salamanca Cathedral
The Roman Bridge, or Puente Romano. This magnificent granite structure with 26 arches crosses the Tormes River. The 15 arches on the city side are of Roman origin, while the rest date from the 18th century, when a restoration took place. It is such a great symbol for Salamanca that it is included in the city's coat of arms.
