Giele Botter, located near Pétange in southwestern Luxembourg, is a nature reserve transformed from a former open-pit iron ore mining site. The name "Giele Botter," meaning "Yellow Butter" in Luxembourgish, reflects the area's distinctive yellowish soil, a remnant of its mining past. Since the cessation of mining activities, the site has undergone significant ecological restoration, now featuring dense forests, shrubs, dry grasslands, and ponds. Visitors can explore the reserve via well-marked trails, such as the 2.5-kilometer Geological Trail, which offers insights into the region's geological history and industrial heritage. The area is also part of the Minett UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, highlighting its environmental significance.

The wagon was probably used to dispose of slag. There is a pile of slag on the slope directly in front of it. If you look closely, you can see a whole lot more of it further down.
