Despite their diversity, they have one thing in common: they have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of the episodes presents the Canal du Midi. This is a connection – desired for centuries, but also considered technically impossible – between the southern coast of France on the Mediterranean and the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
