Pouillon is a former Gallo-Roman village that once served as a fortified camp along a Roman road between Bordeaux and Pamplona. In the centre you will find traditional houses, a village square and the impressive Église Saint-Martin, an 11th-century Romanesque church with Gothic features, colourful stained glass windows and a marble altar. The Bénarrucq chapel, a former stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, is nearby and adds to the historic character of the village.

The Moulin de Sapigneul refers to Lock 2 on the Canal de l'Aisne à la Marne, located near Berry-au-Bac in the Marne department. The lock is also known as Écluse n°2 du Moulin de Sapigneul and is operated by Voies Navigables de France (VNF). The lock has a chamber length of 38.50 metres, a chamber width of 5.05 metres and a maximum draught of 2.20 metres. Nearby attractions include the Forêt Dommainiale les Blanches Terres and the ruins of Entonnoir.

On a raised point along the Chemin des Dames, on the site of the former Moulin de Vauclerc, stands a stone statue of Napoleon Bonaparte, erected in 1974. It marks the spot where Napoleon observed the Battle of Craonne on 7 March 1814, during the French campaign against Russian and Prussian forces. The battle claimed more than 12,000 lives. The emperor is depicted looking out over the horizon – a symbol of strategy, battle and memory.

The Nécropole nationale de Cormicy is a French military cemetery from the First World War, located in the municipality of Cormicy, near Reims. The cemetery was created during the war to collect the bodies of the soldiers who died during the fighting on the Chemin des Dames. The cemetery was later expanded to include bodies excavated from other temporary cemeteries in the Vesle valley12. The cemetery has an area of 44,213 m² and contains 14,431 graves, of which 6,945 are in two ossuaries. Among the buried soldiers are two British from the First World War and ten from the Second World War. The cemetery is also called “La Maison Bleue”, after the farm that used to be there.

Covering an area of approximately 20 hectares, it is home to various species of fish, such as carp, pike, perch, roach and tench. You can appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the lake from different viewpoints, such as the wooden bridge or the picnic area.
