Hohenheim Castle is located in the south of the city of Stuttgart, surrounded by the fertile Filder area and framed by the Stuttgart districts of Plieningen and Birkach. The former summer residence of Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg is located in the middle of spacious green areas, the Hohenheim Gardens. The castle in its current form is modeled on Versailles. The castle now houses parts of the University of Hohenheim.

The castle complex itself is very beautiful, the path up from Esslingen's old town via the path in the wall is adventurous and an experience, and the area behind the castle (seen from the town) is beautifully designed with places to rest and play. Great excursion option, best combined with a stroll through Esslingen's old town.
