Magnificent panoramic views from a viewpoint with several benches near the former Bertaburg castle. In good weather, the view extends to the Neckar Valley on one side and to the Kaiserberge mountains on the other.

The foundations of the building, originally a moated castle, probably date back to the 12th century. In the early 18th century, it underwent significant renovations. The access to the old staircase was walled up, a new entrance was created, and an extension was built to house the current staircase. In 1739, Wilhelm Ludwig Thumb von Neuburg acquired the property, and it remains in the family's possession today.

Large Jupiter Column in the Roman Park

The Roman fort is located here in the Roman Park. The park is beautifully landscaped, with a large children's playground, a Roman Museum and archaeological park, and numerous benches invite you to relax.

The fort was built by the Romans between 90 and 95 AD as Grinario Fort, but was abandoned around the year 260. After that, it was used by the villagers, for example, to build a Roman bath. In 1911, the southern corner tower was built by the Swabian Alb Association according to the ideas of the time. In 1988, the park and museum were inaugurated. Source: Historical town tour
