The Benedictine monastery of Marcilhac is now only a ruin, but is still absolutely worth seeing. Only remnants remain (12th century). Several imaginatively designed Romanesque capitals can be admired in the chapter house.

One of the most popular photo motifs in the Lot Valley. It's incredible how this structure was built into the rock and is accessible!

The pulpit protrudes a little above the rock, so that one can not only overlook the course of the Lot, but also see the towpath carved into the rock, which lies a good 100m below.

The place is on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. There is a pilgrim hostel (Gîte d’étape) in town. The long-distance hiking trail GR 651 (Célé variant) passes here and then continues over the Causses du Quercy to Concots, before joining up with the GR 65 again between Limogne-en-Quercy and Varaire and then reaching Cahors.
