If only all old railways could be a good as this one. Whitstable to Folkestone on the Canterbury South is on my hitlist!!

A pleasant cafe with a basic menu, bacon and egg sandwiches, some cakes, and hot and cold drinks. She also sells plants and her cat is the friendliest! Open Thursday through Sunday 10am to 4pm (as of July '24)

On your way to Brighton, Mary's bacon sandwiches will keep you going! Definitely worth stopping!

Lovely off road route, great for kids. Gravel, but smooth enough and pretty level so I could cope on 23mm tyres. Also dry so ok for commute, though lots of runners and dog walkers so not the speediest. Wider tyres would be nicer for comfort though.

Was a railway station on the Steyning Line which served the village of West Grinstead. It had a goods yard with a cattle loading bay and facilities for handling horse boxes. With the hunt kennels and national stud based in the area, the station saw substantial horse traffic The station closed as a result of the Beeching Axe in 1966 and now forms part of the Downs Link footpath.
