Coltishall Station is one of the narrow gauge stations on the Bure Valley Railway line. It's also an access point for the nine mile (14.5 km) Bure Valley Path.

I've ridden Marriotts way many times, and it's a great route. However foolishly I didn't appreciate how muddy many parts of it get when it's been wet.

Marriott's Way is a 26-mile (42km) surfaced multi-user path which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, running between Aylsham and Norwich.

Pleasure to ride this mostly continuous path from Aylsham to Norwich (in dry conditions) through changing settings and off-road surfaces

It's a nice feature to test your handle bars cycling up to the road. :) However, once up on the road, do not get confused by the Marriott Way sign across the road pointing leftward, as you need to turn right and left onto Station Road and descend down quite a chunky gravel descent (possibly due to construction work).

This was a lovely off road bike ride and ideal for families. Unfortunately, ruined by out of control dogs off leads, or if on a lead it is a long lead that is barely visible so is a trip hazard. Lots of dogs jump up at you and chase after livestock. I ride responsibly with regard for other users on this shared path but I will not be riding it again any time soon. It’s a shame as I have used it for many years but I’ve had enough of the large amount of dog walkers who use this trail.

As of 9th May 2023, parts of Marriotts Way north of Drayton are a total mudbath and only suitable for MTBs. The surface coming into Norwich is worn out and bumpy but at least dry.

Norwich Castle is undergoing major works to restore the floors to their original level of the 12th century so future visitors can truly appreciate what life in the castle was like when it was built. It is still possible to appreciate the royal Norman fortress from the outside.

Journeying between Aylsham and Norwich, Marriott's Way is a traffic free trail for hikers and cyclists. It follows the routes of two disused railway lines for 26 miles and passes through some glorious Norfolk countryside. Such as this just outside the city of Norwich.

Norwich Castle comprises the castle, a museum and art gallery. The castle site is at least 900 years old but may currently be closed due to redevelopment. The large gallery complex converted from the city’s Victorian prison remains open during the works. It houses collections in archaeology, natural history, regimental history, and fine, decorative and contemporary art. Construction work has begun on the Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project to transform the medieval castle. Because of the building work and health and safety measures to protect visitors and staff, some areas of the castle site are not open.

Norwich Greenways are a series of traffic free routes. Perfect for families with young children. These trails follow the origonal routes of disused railway lines. Many of the old stations have been transformed into refreshment stops and bike hire centres,

A nice easy ride all the way from Norwich to Aylsham. Some really nice views along the way too.

On the former Midland and Great Northern Railway, Hellesdon was once a bustling station. A rural line, it was part of the railway mania that swept the national, causing ranch lines to crop up all over the place. The line was closed in the 1980s and now serves as part of the Marriotts Way cycle and footpath. The trail is named after William Marriott, the manager of the line for over 40 years.

Lovely and Peaceful and great track , suitable for all bikes.

Not a long path but easier than the old one

Norwich Cathedral is a stunning church dating back to 1096. Built from cream-coloured limestone, the cathedral took over 50 years to complete. You can visit the second largest cloisters in England, which has over 1,000 bosses, many of which are ornately carved and painted.
