An incredibly beautiful route

Exciting and simply beautiful

People come here for the pier to Montreux or Lausanne, for the swans and the pedalos, for the magnificent private mansion which has just been tastefully renovated, but especially for the grenette and its folk market on Saturdays in July-August, where you buy your glass and then fill it and empty it as many times as you want between 10am and 1pm, in the atmosphere of music and folk costumes!

The Swiss Games Museum is housed in part of the chateau.

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Counts of Savoy and rebuilt several times in the 18th century. The ramparts, two corner towers and the moats remain of the defences. The castle now houses a games museum

The Alimentarium is located in the old Nestlé headquarters, a neoclassical building on the shores of Lake Geneva. This building dates back to 1867 and now provides an inspiring environment for the museum. The core of the museum programme is the permanent exhibition “Food – The Essence of Life”. This exhibition places visitors at the heart of the message and invites them to think about their bodies, their environment and their social circle. It offers valuable information about nutrition, health and culture. The Alimentarium organises various activities, such as culinary classes, workshops for adults, children, groups, companies and schools. You can cook together and learn more about nutrition and food history. There are also special school activities to make students aware of the history, culture, science and technology behind our food. A futuristic escape game called AL2049 immerses you in a world of food and nutrition. A unique experience for visitors who enjoy a challenge. The Alimentarium also has a beautiful garden overlooking Lake Geneva. This garden is an integral part of the museum scenography and offers an idyllic location to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Between 1840 and 1846, a building on the Grand Place, on the banks of the lake, was transformed into one of the most important neo-Gothic buildings in Vaud and even a pioneering work for the whole of Switzerland. The Château de l'Aile stands on the site of the former Halles de Vevey which, by consonance, were the origin of the Aile, the sign of the inn belonging to this commercial building from 1545. The property was sold by the municipality to Adam Chastelain in 1680. The building was then rebuilt as a turreted pleasure castle - with a wider tower on the axis of the north facade.

The fork was probably a point of contention among the population for a long time before it could finally be installed and inaugurated.
