Cawfields Quarry is a former quarry located directly on Hadrian's Wall near Haltwhistle. Constructed in the early 20th century, the quarry cut through the Roman wall, exposing the underlying dolerite rock of the Whin Sill. Following the quarry's closure, the site has been redeveloped into a peaceful recreation area with a picturesque lake, picnic areas, and walking trails.
