An absolutely great hiking trail through a nature reserve

Helfenstein Castle, actually a ruin, was built around 1100 by Eberhard von Helfenstein. At the site of the earlier hall construction, there is now an approximately nine meter high rectangular tower that you can "climb" from the inside, a staircase leads to the top. In summer you can linger and have a drink in the castle tavern on the east side... Pay attention to the flag. From here there is a very good view of Geislingen an der Steige, the five valleys and the surrounding mountains.

Attention Tuesdays and Wednesdays are days off

The food was very plentiful and tasty. Outdoor seating as far as the eye can see, and in bad weather there is a beer tent. Homemade brain soup today, delicious!

Would recommend the waterfall to Brunnenstein cave in the climb. It was very slippery going down.

At the top you can take a look into the Brunnensteig cave. Best with a strong flashlight.
