旧市街では、18世紀から19世紀にかけてのザンクト・ガレンの繊維商人が世界中を旅したことを物語る、芸術的に装飾された出窓が目を引きます。それらは、ザンクト・ガレンが麻織物と刺繍産業において重要であったことを思い出させます。旧市街には、そのような出窓が100以上あります。一部は多層階で、塗装されていたり、木彫りが施されていたりします。

Good spot for taking a break or escaping a sudden storm! There's some places to sit, as well as an overhanging roof where you can hide from the rain :)

Really wonderful place to cycle or walk through. You're surrounded by beautiful fruit trees which provide nice cooling shade in the hot months, and the lovely gravel paths are a lovely way to ride around and discover the region!

There's so many great views around the lake, and this is one of them! On a clear day, you can see very far in the distance. But even with less-than-perfect weather, there's still a lot of natural beauty to enjoy.

Colloquially, this bridge is called "Ganggelibrugg" because it sways slightly (ganggelet) due to its light construction.

The baroque old town boasts sights such as the town hall, built between 1747 and 1750, with its rich Rococo decorations, and the 14th-century Church of St. Pelagius. The Thur Bridge, built in 1487, is one of the most important late medieval bridges in Switzerland. In the 9th century, Bischofszell was given the name Episcopalicella by its founder, Bishop Salomo. This translates as "the bishop's cell." Bischofszell Castle was the bishop's castle and dates back to the 13th century.
