The Grimmenwiesenbach is a right tributary of the Lohrbach in the Main-Spessart district in the Bavarian Spessart. It is formed in Neuhütten by the confluence of the Äußerer Bach and Schwarzengrundbach. Äußerer Bach The Äußerer Bach rises in the Stockbrunnen north of the Bischborner Hof, below the federal highway 26, in the Lohrerstraße forest. It flows in a northerly direction and is fed with additional water from the Gailsborn. The Äußerer Bach is the longer source stream at 3.9 km. Schwarzengrundbach The source of the 3.0 km long Schwarzengrundbach is the Schwarze Brunnen, located north of Rothenbuch, in the Rothenbuch forest. It is reinforced by the Fuchsbrunnen, passes the so-called Quellfurt and joins the Äußerer Bach in Neuhütten. Course After the confluence of the source streams, the Grimmenwiesenbach flows through the Grimmwiesensee, which was built as part of the village renewal project. The Wiesbüttsee (formerly: Hanauer See) is a forest lake in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district in the Spessart. The Wiesbüttsee is located in the district of Flörsbach in the municipality of Flörsbachtal, directly on the state border with Bavaria. The Bavarian/Hessian border runs along the western bank, at the foot of the dam. To the west of it lies the unincorporated area of Wiesener Forst in the Bavarian district of Aschaffenburg. To the north runs the Spessart-Höhenstraße (L 2905) and the two old trade routes: Birkenhainer Straße and Eselsweg. To the southwest lies the village of Wiesen in Lower Franconia, to the southeast Mosborn, a district of the municipality of Flörsbachtal and to the north Bieber, a district of the municipality of Biebergemünd. The artificial lake, which was created to generate energy and ventilate the Bieber mines, is now located on the edge of the Wiesbüttmoor nature reserve. The lake has no above-ground inflow; it is fed underground from the Wiesbüttmoor. The water is drained into the Aubachtal valley via the Wiesbüttgraben through a natural overflow. The Wiesbüttsee, with its diverse flora, some of which is already threatened with extinction, is part of one of the last raised bogs in Germany. It was created in 1765 by Bieber miners according to plans by the mining master Johann Philipp Cancrinus to ensure ventilation and drainage of the Lochborntalgrund silver, copper and lead mine tunnels in the summer. It was also intended to provide sufficient impact water for the Bieber ironworks and the hammer mill. Due to the special ore deposits in the area around Bieber, extensive mining was carried out at this time. The Wiesbüttsee served the water-powered machines used in mining to drain and ventilate the tunnels. The water power drove the conveyor system of the ironworks in the Lochhütte until 1925.
