The Cathedral of Saint George (Romanian: Catedrala Sfântul Gheorghe din Timișoara, Hungarian: Szent György Római Katolikus Székesegyház) is a Roman Catholic church located on Cathedral Square (Romanian: Piața Unirii) in the center of the 1st District (Cetate) of Timișoara (German: Temeswar), a city in western Romania. The cathedral is the cathedral of the Diocese of Timișoara and is dedicated to Saint George. It is the second largest Baroque church in Southeast Europe after the Cathedral of Oradea. The cathedral's floor plan is in the shape of a double cross, measuring 55 meters long, 22 meters wide, and reaching an interior height of 16.9 meters. The towers are 35.5 meters high. The church is a listed historical monument. (Wikipedia) The paintings are particularly worth seeing, and you should take your time to appreciate the beautiful details.

The artesian well in downtown Timisoara is not a historical monument. It was built in 1957 and quickly became a symbol of the city. Originally, it was shaped like a star with five corners, topped with bronze fish. Since then, the shape of the basin has changed several times.
