イゼンビュッテル近郊のタンクルム湖（ギフホルン地区）は、シュテューデにあるベルンシュタイン湖の「兄貴分」のような存在です。水面積は約62ヘクタールとかなり広く、ヴォルフスブルク、ギフホルン、ブラウンシュバイクの間の地域全体で最も有名なレジャースポットの1つです。タンクルム湖は約1,000メートルの長さのきめ細かい砂浜で有名です。夏には本物の休暇気分を味わえます。

グローセ・ザッセンブルク周回コース（しばしば「ザッセンブルク周回道路」とも呼ばれる）は、ギフホルン郡で最も魅力的で変化に富んだサイクリングおよびハイキングルートの1つです。ザッセンブルク自治体のさまざまな地区を結び、水、湿原、森林が特徴的な景観の中を走ります。

Especially for children, it's a climbing paradise, whether in summer or winter. For adults, there are plenty of benches next to a large shelter.

One of the few cafés that's also open on Mondays! There's a small lunch menu (12-3 p.m.) with things like schnitzel or currywurst; otherwise, they serve coffee and cake. I passed the time waiting by paying an extra €5 to walk through the amazingly large garden (children under 12 would have been free). That seemed like a steep price at first, but the garden is beautiful, blooming, and buzzing with life. I was pretty impressed and thought it was definitely worth the entrance fee. There's a playground for the little ones, grandma and grandpa can easily navigate the paths with their walkers, and there are plenty of benches. There are also lots of carved animals to discover – really lovely, so I didn't mind the not-so-great cake 😁
