Because this route is so popular, additional rest areas have been built. It's also a great place for a hike. Since the route runs directly alongside the railway line, you can end your tour at any time and take the train back. Perhaps plan your trip accordingly.

The Neukloster Forest is a beech forest with trees up to approximately 200 years old. Originally used by the monastery for which it is named, it is home to several, sometimes rare, animal and plant species. A short hike of about 4.5 km through the Neukloster Forest is wonderful. From the Pfingstmarktplatz parking lot, the W4 hiking trail leads into the forest, passing historical and archaeological treasures such as burial mounds and wayside crosses. Follow the signs to the Friedwald parking lot and turn left there to return to the Pfingstmarktplatz parking lot. Enjoy a beautiful hike here! 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶💚

The FriedWald Buxtehude offers natural burials. The FriedWald covers 77 hectares. The tree species include beech, oak, Douglas fir, hornbeam, pine, larch, and blackthorn. A burial mound and a Jewish cemetery, a military cemetery, a place of reflection, and a shelter are also located here. It opened on November 1, 2006. Free events are held in the FriedWald.
