You have to look a bit off the trail, as the watchtowers aren't always directly on the trail, but the Heidenrod Local History Society has done a great job here. It's nice to experience history in the forest.

Tunnel of 148 meters in length west of Adolfseck, built in 1892 with the second section of the Aartalbahn, Bad Schwalbach - Zollhaus (for the Aartalbahn, see also introduction). The southern tunnel mouth, located next to Aarstraße and oriented towards Bad Schwalbach, shows a relatively elaborately designed, castle-like, historicizing architecture with a square arched opening, asymmetrically staggered gable and corner turret, in quarry stone cladding made of local slate material with sandstone work parts.
