Sexten (Italian: Sesto) is a mountain village in the Alta Pusteria Valley, known as the gateway to the Three Peaks and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Its name derives from the sixth milestone of an ancient Roman road. The village lies at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters and is famous for the Sexten sundial, a striking mountain formation where the position of the sun can be read from the peaks.
