This lookout point is just a short hike from the Blue Ridge Parkway but oh my, the views! Getting to the very summit of the lookout point requires scaling a large boulder; there are fixed cables to make it easier.

Bard Falls is a thirty foot tall seasonal cascade in the Harper Creek Wilderness Study Area. The fall are located directly off the side of the trail and are one of the less visited (aka, more peaceful) waterfalls in the area. The trail to Bard Falls can be connected to various other trails.

The Linn Cove Viaduct is a 1,243 foot (379 m) long concrete bridge that wraps around Grandfather Mountain. It was designed with protection of the mountain's habitat in mind, and is the most famous bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The viaduct was opened to the public in 1987, therefore completing the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Situated on the Parkway, just 7km away from the city of Blowing Rock, is right place to take day off. Newly built showers make all the difference when cycling all day. Many hiking trails and nice big lake could keep you occupied for hours. Boat rental is available. It is big camp but very popular so try to arrive early or book on line. $20
