Outside of Nottertal-Heilinger Höhen you are on the Unstrut-Werra cycle path. This is 113 kilometers long and follows the rivers that give it its name.

Beautiful little church, which invites you to stop for photos.

It's great that such old buildings have been preserved. They were built in 1565, after all.

The church was first mentioned in documents in the 14th century. The nave, which has a gable roof, was renovated in 1669. It was renovated in 1873 and again in the 1980s. One of the downsides of the Unstruttal cycle path is that it often leads past towns and so you don't see too much of the town's urban structure. That's why I took a quick turn here.

The tower structure is a true masterpiece, especially by carpenters but also by slaters. I don't want to see the construction plan of the framework for the main tower and the four attached corner towers. A very atypical but successful construction!
