3月 8, 2022, Schlossbergturm
The Schlossbergturm is a 33.27 meter high observation tower on the Schlossberg. The Schlossberg Tower was erected in 2002 by the Board of Trustees on the Salzbüchslekuppe. For the construction, the architect used 100-year-old Douglas fir trunks from the local Ottilienwald, which fell over due to the severe hurricane Lothar in 1999. The long logs were twisted around the steel staircase. In honor of all donors who made construction possible in 2002, their names were placed on the face of the 153 steps to the top of the tower and can be read when climbing the tower. However, the natural construction with the tree trunks was repeatedly attacked by fungi and pests in the years that followed. In July 2015, the dilapidated logs were finally removed after several rescue attempts. After the tower was inaccessible for a long time, it was finally renewed in 2017 by the board of trustees and the donations they collected. In this step, the tree trunks were replaced by a reliable steel construction. The cost of the renovation was 192,000 euros, but the city expects the galvanized steel pylons to last 100 years. The Neunlindenturm stands on the Totenkopf, the highest mountain in the Kaiserstuhl. The tower is 14m high and offers a great view of the Kaiserstuhl, the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Rhine plain.

A great highlight. Nice to combine with a short hike on the Schloßberg. The tower is easy to reach from the old town. However, you should be good on foot. After a steep climb, you reach the tower via at least 200 steps 😏

At the latest since 1333 there was a Pauline monastery here, which was abandoned around 1525. In 1900 this lookout tower was built here on the Neunlinden-Totenkopf summit by the Badischer Schwarzwaldverein. And yes, the view is fantastic!

Wonderful vision. Especially on a clear day a very wide view towards Switzerland and France. Great to take a break but rather below the tower. It is relatively tight on the tower and is now recommended with Corona with a mask. Please pay attention to the trapdoor at the top. It is beautifully foggy in the valley, especially in the early hours. It is also worth going up the tower twice a day, as the picture changes sensually from morning to night.

Be sure to climb the tower: the only 360 ° panoramic view of the Kaiserstuhl, Black Forest, Upper Rhine Plain, Vosges.

Very nice hiking destination in all seasons. Ascent is a bit difficult / steep. In May there is a wine tasting right under the tower. Great view over the Breisgau to the Rheineben

The Eichelspitzturm is a 42.5 meter high observation tower, which was built jointly by the mobile operator O2, the neighboring communities Eichstetten, Bötzingen, Bahlingen and Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl, the association "Eichelspitzturm e.V.", and the state of Baden-Württemberg in 2006. The tower is named after the Eichelspitze, the second highest elevation of the Kaiserstuhl. From the viewing platform at a height of 28 meters you have a comprehensive view of the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Kaiserstuhl itself. [1] The tower can be reached from Eichstetten via the Geo-Path, a nature trail that deals with the types of rock in the Kaiserstuhl. [2] A surveying scaffold originally stood here. This was replaced in 2001 by a temporary tower with a viewing platform at a height of 27 m. This was very well received by hikers, so that the idea for the Eichelspitzturm came up and was implemented. [1]

Great lookout tower on the Eichelspitze. The platform is at a height of 28 m and offers a much better view than the nine-linden tower on the skull.

A wonderful highlight of the Great Kaiserstuhl Tour! The Neulindenberg is the highest accessible peak you can climb on the Kaiserstuhl. Once you reach the summit, it's worth taking a quick climb up the stairs to the Neunlinden Tower to get your thighs burning. You'll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Black Forest, the Kaiserstuhl, and the Vosges Mountains. https://www.schwarzwaldfreude.com/2020/04/10/große-kaisterstuhlrunde-toskanafeeling-und-schwarzwaldblicke/
