Krumbach's market square is the town's historical heart. Protected from flooding, it sits on a small plateau. The most striking building is undoubtedly the historic half-timbered town hall, dating from 1679. The square was formerly used as a granary. Here, trade, government, and daily life took place.

In the past, numerous mills lined the banks of the water. There were once 24 of them on the Kammel River. One of them was located right here at the weir. First mentioned in the 15th century, it operated until 1966. Today, it generates electricity. And so, the mill wheel still turns at the Lower Mill.

Beautiful old mill. Here you can be intoxicated by the sound of rushing water.

Great par with plenty of seating and plenty of shade in summer

The piglet market was held here on Tuesdays until the 1960s (!). This tradition was remembered again during the redesign of the square (1990), and a design competition resulted in the bronze pig dealer ("Saubarthel").

At Wätteplatz you will find the former horse trough, which later became the piglet market.

A beautiful building at the weir of the Kammel, at the northeast end of the "Stadtgarten", one of the highlights when walking through the park, even the mill wheel is still turning
