1969年築。純粋なコンクリート造りであったため、聖ヤコブ教会は危うく滅亡するところでした。献堂からわずか数年後に、内部に水が浸入し、甚大な被害をもたらしたため、教区は教会を解体するか、あるいは完全に二重の外殻で改築するかという選択に直面しました。後者が選択され、オリジナルの教会は保存されました。(https://www.sakralbauten.ch/huetten-st-jakobus/)

A very beautiful viewpoint (to the south from the Sfäntis to the Central Swiss Alps; to the north from the Belvedere towards Lake Zurich). Good restaurant (please note the opening hours).

This small wayside chapel is also called Langeneggchappeli and is located on the path from Raten to Gottschalkenberg.

It's often outside the fog. Here, the railway lines from Rapperswil to Biberbrugg and from Rapperswil to Einsiedeln meet, along with the SOB workshop. The tracks wind their way close to the hiking trails, and you can catch glimpses of the trains.

The Raten mountain – at 1077m – high above Lake Ägeri offers a fantastic view of our mountains. The Restaurant Raten is highly recommended: The atmosphere is lovely and cozy, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious. It has a large parking lot, which is also a good starting point for hikes. Parking is subject to a fee daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Very nice viewing platform with a very good photo board that shows and labels the panorama very well.
