Lake Schwerin and the city of Schwerin...worth a trip. It's a great drive around the lake. Schwerin has a lot of cobblestones.

From up here you have a wonderful view of Lake Schwerin.

This viewpoint is located on a hilltop. There are two benches there. The bike path is excellent...it's easy to climb if you're coming from Schwerin. But anyone should be able to climb this little hilltop. The view is fantastic.

The orangery is a two-winged building, the roof serves as a terrace, it is located in the axis of the main tower of the castle and is open to the sea. The inner courtyard is planted, to the southeast there is an arcade and the statue of Hercules taming a bull in the middle of the arcade. The palm garden and shell fountain, several accessible roof terraces and the sea grotto are part of the orangery.

One of Schwerin's nine lakes is located in the middle of the city and is lined with wide promenades. It covers around 12 hectares of the city's area and is 2.80 m deep. The Pfaffenteich (Low German: Papendiek) was created by building a dam (later called Spieltordamm) at the northern end, probably shortly after the town was founded in the 12th century, initially as a mill pond in what was once a boggy depression. The body of water originally extended about 350 meters further south to the level of Schloßstraße, where the mill dam bordered it to the south and a water mill documented since 1178 was in operation. From here the water flowed into the Burgsee. A count's mill was in operation until the 19th century. A second mill stood on the Aubach, which became the property of the cathedral chapter, from then on was called the Bischofsmühle and was in operation until 1914. A frequent topic of dispute between the counts and the cathedral chapter, which also took possession of the mill pond, was the water's dam height. The Pfaffenteich is located pretty much in the center of Schwerin. There is a Petermännchen ferry.

Nice path, but as described, very noisy.
