The Libnitz manor house is for sale, and anyone with more than 3 million euros will be able to call themselves the "owner of the castle" in the future. Unfortunately, the surrounding buildings are not in good condition. The farm buildings, some of which look dilapidated, are used for agriculture and livestock farming and do not do the manor house justice.

The manor house in Libnitz was built in the first half of the 19th century. The builder was Fritz Alfred Meyer, son of Selma Schichau, whose father founded the Schichau works in Elbing in October 1837. Fritz Alfred Meyer was married to Friderike Sarnow. Together they bore the family name Meyer-Sarnow. The Meyer-Sarnow family managed the estate until the end of World War II in 1945. Before the arrival of the Red Army, the family fled to the West. After the expropriation, the building and the usable space became municipal property and several rental apartments were set up in the house. In 2000, the municipality sold the property to private investors, who carried out extensive renovations on the house from 2001 to 2003 in order to use it for tourist purposes.

A very beautiful hunting lodge

Coming from Bergen, Lietzow is located on the Jasmund Peninsula, directly at the narrowest point between the Kleiner and Großer Jasmunder Bodden. In the center of the small town is a striking building resembling a small castle. In fact, it is a kind of miniature copy of Lichtenstein Castle near Reutlingen in the Swabian Alb. It was built around 1893 by the builder of the railway line over the Lietzow Dam. The building was initially called the "Villa am Dorf" (village in the village), later the "Schlösschen Lichtenstein" (little castle). It is a two-story plastered building with a tiled gable roof and a tall, round tower. The building has changed owners several times. The manor house was sold by the municipality to Tassilo Klöckner in 2000 and apartments and holiday homes were built there.

Carnitze was first mentioned in a document in 1314. In the following centuries, there were not only several changes of ownership, but Karnitz was also partly desolate. Ultimately, in 1782 only the actual estate remained, but without any associated farms. Around 1834/1835, today's hunting lodge was built in the Tudor Gothic style for Count Guido von Usedom. Hermann Ruperti took over the Karnitz manor including the castle in 1868. In 1930 the property was owned by Dr. Baron von Vietinghoff. This was affected by expropriation in 1945. Refugee families were accommodated in the castle and the park was partially converted into gardens. The basement of Karnitz Castle served as a school around 1956, as a kindergarten in 1962 and was finally converted into a restaurant in 1964. Between 1966 and 1969: extensive measures were taken to preserve the value of the castle, some of which were carried out by local residents themselves. In 1971 the castle park was placed under nature conservation. Six years later, the facade of the castle was renovated. The restaurant was renovated in 1977 and closed in 1989. In 1991, a complete facade renovation was carried out based on the planned use as a hotel at the time. In 2006, Gerhard Strotkamp acquired the Karnitz hunting lodge.
