The estate comprises, in addition to the main castle, other buildings including a coach house (with 29 rooms in a Spanish country house style, extended in 2003), a residence, a garage, and a warehouse. The steward's house – typically the residence of the estate manager on historic properties – was located in building number 37.

The single-story Groß Plasten manor house was built in 1751 as a stucco building with a mansard roof in the Baroque style. In the mid-19th century, the von Michael family, who owned the approximately 574-hectare estate before the Great Depression until 1945, added a two-story transverse building with a lakeside terrace. The renovations, carried out from 1891 to 1893, were overseen by Privy Councilor Georg Daniel. Today, the site houses the Groß Plasten Castle Hotel.

Basedow Castle is a real eye-catcher and beautiful to look at. Together with Lenné Park and the small village with the village church, it forms a wonderful ensemble. Unfortunately, the castle itself can only be partially visited as part of a guided tour. But it is also worth seeing from the outside. There is a small path leading directly around the castle. The park is free and freely accessible and it is also worth taking a long walk here. The reflection of the castle in the adjacent village pond is also beautiful!👌 - why they have created several highlights for the same thing here is a mystery to me, as it is completely unnecessary! -

Ulrichshusen Castle is actually a manor house. It is beautifully situated on the Ulrichshusen Lake. The castle is used as an upscale hotel. But there is not just the castle with the small castle garden directly adjacent. Rather, it is an entire ensemble on the Ulrichshusen estate. Here you will find a good café and restaurant, among other things. The other outbuildings are used for various public events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

At the front you are standing in front of locked gates. At the back you can enter the grounds unhindered. The path to Klein Plasten also leads past the castle.

Cyclists are not welcome here. Although the cycle path runs along the edge of the site, there is a locked gate and an additional barrier.

The main building of Groß Plasten Castle was built in 1751 as a single-storey manor house. In 1850, the main building was extended with a second floor and a transverse building with a large lakeside terrace and adjacent park. But not only the manor house was completed in the neo-baroque style, social facilities such as a school and apartments for the working class were also built. Today, the castle hotel shines in new splendour under the name THE RESET and has since made a name for itself as one of the top international addresses in the field of medical fasting.
