A very well maintained building. Nice to look at.

In 1806, the Protestant church was built in the classicist style to replace the burned-down medieval predecessor building. After the Second World War, it was only partially rebuilt and is now connected to a parish hall by a walkway in the current inner courtyard.

Great cycle path on the old route of the former Oderbruchbahn.

Located in the middle of town

Very nice bike path. We started in Fürstenwalde to Golzow. Overnight there and on to Wriezen. Then to the customs bridge and spent the night there. Back on the Oder-Neisse cycle path to Lebus to Falkenhagen (overnight stay) and on the Oderbruch railway cycle path back to Fürstenwalde. Weather was great. Successful 4-day tour.

Beautiful bike path because of good surface and absolutely car-free. The path is lined with many fruit trees, otherwise I've never driven straight ahead for so long...

The Way of St. James, with its pilgrim stamp, also passes through here. The church is usually open during the day in summer; visitors can obtain a key from the parish office at Schulstrasse 6.

The first foundation stones of the church at the former bishopric of Lebus date back to the Middle Ages, circa 1355. When the church was completely destroyed in a fire in 1801, it was rebuilt as a neoclassical plastered structure with the floor plan still visible today. The unusual proportions of the church interior and tower are a result of World War II. The church was so badly damaged that only the western section was rebuilt as a temporary church. The crumbling walls of the former transept and choir were secured with a roof in 2005, so that today, in addition to the winter church, a cloister-like open space surrounded by historic walls can be used for events.
