So far, archaeologists have found a huge and luxurious building, which has an area of 1360 square meters, built of local stone and consists of 80 rooms. The walls of the two or three-storey building were plastered with clay for insulation and decorated with wall paintings. Another small Mycenaean building was discovered nearby. It is striking that such a large complex operates at an altitude of 1200m, although it is believed that it was closed in winter due to snow.

It looks easy on the map - only 2 km, but over sharp lava rocks and constant ups and downs. The path along a gorge is great though.

Anogia is also the home of the famous singer Nikos Xilouris (Psaronikos).
