Sandy beach with three tavernas, not as crowded and not as expensive as the party beaches. Kalafatis is the only beach on Mykonos that is surrounded by trees and is also one of the largest on the island.

A very pleasant stay (end of May, beginning of June). The hotel is only 25% full. Unfortunately breakfast is not outdoors, but otherwise OK. Great pool with bar and great view of the bay.

Ano Mera is a quiet, inland village. Here is the restored 16th-century monastery of Panagia Tourliani, with icons and paintings in a whitewashed complex with an imposing bell tower and marble fountain. Bakeries, taverns and cafes with terraces on narrow cobblestone streets have a rustic-chic feel. Hiking trails lead to the surrounding rocky hills and to nearby beaches.

The beach is really nice, but now so many hotels have been built behind it that it's no longer fun.

The Focus Tavern on the lonely Focus Beach is definitely worth a stop. There is whatever is available - everything is delicious and fresh.
