The church on the east side of the village of Berg was built around 1345 from field stones. However, more recent studies point to the year 1200. It is the oldest church in north-eastern Upper Lusatia. The church is very small and cramped. It was used until 1785. It has been a listed building since 1955 and was extensively restored a few years ago. Not far from here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city of Bad Muskau and the Unterpark up to the former mausoleum on the Polish side of Muskau Park. In 2006, on the occasion of the Muskau Shooting Festival, a wooden bell tower was erected and the "Bell of Reconciliation" was inaugurated.

The entrance to the Bergpark from Berliner Straße is difficult to find. It's just an archway in the row of houses. Some of the paths through the mountain park are steep. There are beautiful details and views to see.

You can get a great view of the reflection in the water from the Carp Bridge. Depending on the position of the sun, it is also a good idea to just walk around the castle and see if there are other angles that not everyone has. This great view greeted us at the start of our tour through Muskau's Fürst Pückler Park. A really beautiful castle. There is also a cafe in the castle courtyard, but unfortunately we were a bit too late at the end of our tour to have the Fürst Pückler ice cream there.

The Muskau Castle is not only a feast for the eyes from the outside. The permanent exhibition housed there about Pückler's interesting life is also well worth seeing. Thanks to various interactive elements, it won't be too boring for children either. The makers have really come up with a lot. Usually there is also the possibility to climb the tower for a nice view over the park for a surcharge. On the day of our visit (30.5.22) that was unfortunately not possible. I can't find any information about it on the website, maybe it's now accessible again. Before or after visiting the exhibition, you can fortify yourself in the modern castle café with a beautiful terrace.

On the terrace of the castle café you can sit with ice cream, coffee and cake directly on Lake Lucie and watch the ducks and swans. There are hearty dishes on the 1st floor. The scenery alone is worth seeing. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. With the combination ticket for €10 (as of June 2022) you can visit the exhibition, the special exhibition and the castle tower. The view is terrific, but it's a little cramped up there. In the garden next to the castle there are sun loungers available in summer!
