What a beautifully restored manor house, Grube Castle.

The current Bantikow Castle dates from 1906. Even before this new building, there was a castle or fortress on the knight's seat of Bantikow, which had existed since the early 14th century. However, this older building no longer existed at the beginning of the 20th century, which is why the new building in the neo-baroque style was built directly on top of the older core. Bantikow Castle is currently a privately run child and youth welfare facility.

The castle is, despite later renovations, a classic baroque building.

The Plattenburg is one of the largest moated castles in northern Germany. The first complex was built here as a protective castle in the 12th century. Over the centuries it underwent repeated expansions and renovations. Last but not least, the income from the pilgrimage period allowed for a magnificent expansion. There is only one castle coffee which is open from Thursday to Sunday. Below the castle there is another fish snack bar with the same opening hours. A full-fledged restaurant or brewery is m.W. not available anymore. For special events it may be different here...

The castle is not open to the public. It is now a facility for traumatized children.

Grube Castle is a living monument with a lot of atmosphere. It is idyllically situated in the middle of the quiet round village of Grube in der Prignitz and belongs to the spa town of Bad Wilsnack. The baroque castle presents itself as a living monument, as an open house for art and culture with gastronomy and accommodation. It has an à la carte restaurant that offers fresh cuisine with ingredients from the castle gardens and local producers from the region. The guest rooms and suites have been lovingly prepared and are spacious. Exhibitions and numerous cultural events characterize the face of the house. The baroque building was built in 1740 and is the last existing mansion of the von Quitzow family. In recognition of the special quality of the renovation, Schloss Grube received the Brandenburg Monument Preservation Prize in 2010. The convincing combination of historical building structure and modern equipment creates a refreshing atmosphere in the house that exudes simple elegance. It is popular for holiday stays as well as for weddings and other family celebrations. Schloss Grube is also popular for smaller conferences and seminars. The Plattenburg is the oldest preserved moated castle in Northern Germany.
