The current Bantikow Castle dates from 1906. Even before this new building, there was a castle or fortress on the knight's seat of Bantikow, which had existed since the early 14th century. However, this older building no longer existed at the beginning of the 20th century, which is why the new building in the neo-baroque style was built directly on top of the older core. Bantikow Castle is currently a privately run child and youth welfare facility.

The fire disaster of November 1, 1821 reduced the old Pritzwalk and the old town hall to rubble and ashes. The reconstruction of the public buildings took several years. Construction of the town hall did not begin until 1826. The smaller new town hall only partially used the foundations of the previous building. The result was a building of simple form in the style of late classicism. At first, this was only the 28-meter-long main building with a protruding central section. The side buildings and the inner courtyard of the town hall were not built until the middle of the century.

The current building dates from 1826. In 1995, during archaeological research into the town centre, the foundations of the oldest town hall were uncovered in Pritzwalk. The construction period is currently dated to the late 13th and 14th centuries. According to a description from 1744, the building was massive with three vaults one above the other, painted yellow and white. The second floor contained, among other things, the audience chamber, below which was the town hall cellar, and below this a large and small vaulted cellar.

The Wilsnacker pilgrim sign consists of three round plates backed by a triangle, the corners of which also serve as fastening eyelets. There are also two crosses on the top two circles. The depictions on the individual tiles show Christ on the cross, Christ rising from the coffin with a victory flag and Christ on the torture stake. A total of 47 Wilsnack pilgrim signs were found, and the pilgrim sign can also be found on over 60 bells, which were intended to avert harm from the church and community and to give grace. Since 1396, the pilgrim signs have been cast from lead and sold to pilgrims in Wilsnack, available directly in the church.

The Plattenburg is one of the largest moated castles in northern Germany. The first complex was built here as a protective castle in the 12th century. Over the centuries it underwent repeated expansions and renovations. Last but not least, the income from the pilgrimage period allowed for a magnificent expansion. Various events take place here and the castle café is also open a few days a week. You can find further information and opening times here: https://www.die Plattenburg.com/.

There is only one castle coffee which is open from Thursday to Sunday. Below the castle there is another fish snack bar with the same opening hours. A full-fledged restaurant or brewery is m.W. not available anymore. For special events it may be different here...
