Hermann-Löns-Weg (named after the "Heathland Poet") begins as a residential street at Hansjakobweg. The crossing over the Albtalbahn railway line is the only access for cars to the area west of the railway. The moderate car traffic thins out as one gets further away from the buildings. It then becomes an asphalted farm track, which eventually leads car-free to Rüppurr and Karlsruhe.

Space to sit and play

The Ettlingen-West district, where the Liebfrauen Parish Church is located, was founded in the 1920s, expanded shortly before World War II, and grew rapidly after 1945 as a result of the influx of refugees from Silesia, East Prussia, Pomerania, and the Baltic States. The Catholics in the settlement belonged to the Sacred Heart Parish and had to walk long distances to attend services. In 1953, the Sacred Heart Parish began construction of an emergency church on Lindenweg, which was completed in 1954. It provided space for 230 worshippers. This emergency church soon became too small for the steadily growing number of Catholics, and so on May 12, 1963, the foundation stone was laid for a new, modern church, which would accommodate 700 worshippers, on the site at the corner of Lindenweg and Mörscher Straße. The new church was consecrated and dedicated by Dean Ludwig Holtermann on October 25, 1964, and consecrated by Archbishop Dr. Hermann Schäufele on July 11, 1965. A very beautiful section of the Tour de Murg with impressive views of the valley. The altitude can almost make you dizzy. The climb is very pleasant with a gradient of ~4%. Extreme caution is required on the descent. The path becomes quite narrow when encountering oncoming traffic; the curves are confusing. You should also expect pedestrians – especially on weekends, it's busier. Simply letting it roll and blasting down the valley at over 50 km/h is absolutely irresponsible!

Very beautiful section with bare rock on one side of the cycle path and wonderful views down to the Murg and the Murgtalbahn on the other side.
