The Hohenkrähen castle ruins are worth a climb for all friends who like steep climbs over narrow paths and are not afraid that it could be a bit more strenuous. The ascent is partly secured with a steel cable. At the top, several points await you with a magnificent view of the Hegau landscape to Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps. There is plenty of seating and also fire pits. The highest point of the fortress looks more like a mountain top than a fortress. It is decorated with a flag. The whole fortress area has grown overgrown. The paths are narrow. You should take good care of small children so that you don't lose them up there. In any case, the ruin is an absolute must for hikers who are out and about in Hegau.
