If open, it is worth taking a detour before the steep climb up the Gräfenstein.

In this refuge you can find shelter when it rains or take a break on the benches in front of the refuge. In front of the refuge you will also find the beautiful Pfaffenbrunnen fountain.

Amseldelhütte, a nice rest area and a lot to discover

The wooden Mercedes truck looks really good on the meadow. Large, solid wooden bench sets invite you to linger.

The Amseldell near Trippstadt is about 360 meters above sea level west of the Karlstal Gorge. In the middle of the 19th century, the Amseldell was set up by the ironworks owner Freiherr Carl Friedrich von Gienanth (1818-1890). It mainly served the workers in the ironworks, but also the local population and royal visitors resided there several times. Today, little remains of the former park-like condition of the popular excursion destination. The Amseldell is the sixth station on the Eisenhüttenweg.

At this point I would like to quickly say something about the source (whereby it corresponds to the art of poetry / if this 'source' is a 'fountain'): To quote the incomparable humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909 – 1979), who was known to a wide audience for his wordplay and “another poem,” with a short quatrain: "There's certainly a lot of beauty in it, on the element, the wet. The Brunnenwanderweg near Kaiserslautern is up to 16 km long. There are nine wells on this path.
